Religion the Lord your God accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after widows and orphans in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world .  James 1: 27

Some are discarded as newborns, whose eyes have never met their mothers.

Some are preschoolers who collectively call an orphanage worker “Mama,” but have no concept of “Papa.”

Others?  Children who face ridicule at school and unthinkable hazing at night.  The oldest are thrust from their institutions to unknown streets.

Over 100 million orphans struggle to survive in this world.

Our Father God knows each one by name.

Compelled to live out James 1:27,  Jim and April Jurgensen founded The Boaz Project in 1999.

The Boaz Project seeks to offer the hope of Jesus Christ to orphans through humanitarian aid, Bible Discovery Classes, baby nurturing, birthday and Christmas presents, job training, and visits by teams from the U.S.   While the long-term vision includes reaching orphans around the world, the organization currently works in Russia and India.
