Yuki and Michael

On my trip to Kenya with The Boaz Project over New Year’s, I connected with was a boy named Michael. He had a lot of fun doing the VBS crafts we brought and coloring, but he especially has a passion for music.

A question from one of our lessons said something like, “What makes you feel close to God?” I remember Michael saying that praise made him feel God’s presence, and realized that he and I are a lot alike when it comes to our passion for music and feeling God.

One of my most memorable moments of the trip was New Year’s Eve when we were at church. I was able to praise God while standing right next to Michael, allowing the music to flood us with the presence of the Holy Spirit. That experience was a life-changing blessing for me.
