The Christmas season is often touted as the “most wonderful time of the year,” and for those of us with warm houses and loving families, it likely is.
But for orphans, the holiday season can be the time of year when their loneliness and sorrow grow most unbearable. That’s why it is so important to send a Christmas gift and gospel presentation—so that children know they are important, loved, and remembered, not only by us, but more importantly, by God!
Communicating that vital truth really isn’t hard. To get started, order your own Orphan Gift Bank HERE. Once it is received and assembled (with tape securing the bottom), start filling it with that change stored in the tiny drawer of your car or rediscovered under your couch cushion. Of course, dollar bills and checks are welcome, too!
When you get a good stash going, send it back to The Boaz Project. If writing a check for the amount is simpler (especially for those who live outside of the Indianapolis area), just send that our way. You can also give online HERE.
The money collected will be used to provide a Christmas or birthday gift (including a gospel tract or presentation) for an orphan who would otherwise not receive any present.
But don’t stop there! Call Cathy at The Boaz Project’s office (317) 889-7606 for information about how your small group, church, child’s school, MOPS group, etc. could be involved bringing hope to orphans by having their own bank campaign.
Of course, we welcome donations any time, but to go with our teams delivering gifts in India and Russia this Christmas, we’ll need it by Nov. 21st.
Let’s make this Christmas “the most wonderful time of the year” for orphans in Russia and India, a time when they encounter God’s love in a practical and meaningful way.
Absolutely! !! How cool is this! I would love to do this!
Gayle Summa Walls, could your CCD class take on this project?
