Dear Prayer Warriors:
Thank you for supporting The Boaz Project through prayer this past month. We ended August with numerous reasons to be grateful!
To begin, the students from Taylor University who were doing their practicum for their Caring for Orphans and Vulnerable Children living and learning community were a tremendous blessing! After nearly a month working in our homes in India, the team had held VBS in four orphanages, taught English as a second language in two, helped eradicate lice and scabies in one of our homes and interviewed numerous orphanage staff.
We were thankful that, despite the longer duration of their trip, no one got sick! We were also thankful for their hard-working spirits. They endured hard, physical labor in brutal heat without complaint.
Also encouraging to the staff was the warm and enthusiastic turnout for our “Dine Out for Orphans” at El Meson. We enjoyed interacting with so many of you, and were able to receive a donation for our Russian Christian Foster Home, too!
As we enter September, we would ask you to keep the following needs before the Lord in prayer:
Two of our Indian homes, Agape Fellowship and Comeback Ministries, are in need of new, suitable homes. We hope to raise funds to contribute toward those expenses at our upcoming Bangalore Nights chocolate tasting and craft event. (You can find the delicious details and register at www.boazproject.org/ladies) Please pray that we will be of assistance and encouragement to them.
A young woman who grew up in and now serves in one of our Indian homes, Christine, has a horrible skin disease. Her skin is literally falling off of her arms. She and her husband have adopted two toddlers and they need a healthy mama.
We have begun speaking to churches about the Russian Christian Foster Home. Please pray for support to be raised quickly as both politics and a favorable exchange rate create a sense of urgency.
As always, we ask that you keep Megan and Joelle in your prayers as they serve at the Daya Vihar orphanage. This month, specifically pray for their encouragement and wisdom as they encounter and triage so many needs before them.
Thank you,
April
