There is a dire need for proper trauma-informed care for orphans.
On our recent trip to South Sudan, The Boaz Project team met Akuja, a young orphan girl with a heart full of promise but eyes filled with vacancy.
Her difficult past and story touched the depths of our souls as we witnessed the resilience of the human spirit amidst tragedy. But, amongst that resilience is the need to be properly nurtured and loved by those trained in caring for children with trauma.
