Every child deserves the love, security, and guidance of a family. But today, millions of children worldwide grow up without that support.
The Bible is clear: God calls His people to care for the fatherless. In James 1:27, we read:
“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress.”
But for many believers, helping feels overwhelming. How do we advocate for vulnerable children? Where do we even begin?
That’s why we’re launching Fundamentals of Orphan Advocacy, a free, easy-to-follow course designed to give you the tools, understanding, and action steps needed to make a real difference.
Why Orphan Advocacy Matters
The global orphan crisis is more than just a statistic—it’s millions of individual children, each with a name, a story, and a God-given purpose.
Here are just a few realities that children without families face:
- Many are vulnerable to poverty, trafficking, and exploitation.
- Some will experience emotional and developmental delays due to lack of consistent care.
- Many will never know the love of a family or the security of belonging.
As followers of Christ, we are called not to look away but to step in with love, wisdom, and action.
But How Can I Help?
You may not be in a position to adopt or foster, but there are countless ways to advocate for vulnerable children.
That’s exactly what you’ll learn in Fundamentals of Orphan Advocacy—a self-paced course designed to open your eyes to the need and equip you with practical, biblical ways to take action.

A quote that stuck out to me in this blog by
Maggie Adkins, is “The global orphan crisis is more than just a statistic—it’s millions of individual children, each with a name, a story, and a God-given purpose.”
This quote makes me think of what it would look like if millions of individuals were to become orphan advocates and could get to know each name and story of orphans, and use their God-given purpose to help the orphans find their God-given purpose.
How would this change the lives of the orphans? How would this change the world?
How would this change the kingdom of God?
With these 3 questions and more, my excitement to serve the Lord is becoming such a joy as I progress through The Boaz Project Orphan Advocate Training! What an honor it is to know and work with The Boaz Project!
“Orphan care is not just for organizations, nonprofits, or government programs. It’s a calling for the Church.” Every believer has a part in taking care of orphans, I love that there is a free training to learn how anyone can get involved and be an advocate. No excuses!
For many years people relaid in organizations to take care orphans resulted in the crisis we see today but the light has come up from the BOAZ project people to get trained and be advocate in their culture.
I love the emphasis of how caring for orphans is for each and every follower of Christ, not just organized ministries, organizations or programs. We all have such an important role to play in serving and caring for orphans, no matter how “big” or “small” the actions are that we take.
Truly truly if we believe in God the creator of all , we shouldn’t have the number of orphans in crisis.Faith without action is dead, let us arise and act to give hope to the orphans. We are all made up of the image of God.ORPHANS TOO.
