During the month of June, The Boaz Project took a team on a 10- day journey to Bangalore, India. The goal of the trip was to visit Agape Home and Bethany Blessing and to lead a five-day Vacation Bible School with Jireh Home, our newest partner in India.

The Jireh Home children’s infectious smiles and charm made spending a majority of our time in India with them easy and a great pleasure. From the littlest named Dolly–who is everything cute and spunky– to Jackson–who is reserved and brilliant–these kids made most, if not all, of the team want to stay in India for an extended amount of time.

During our time together we were able to take the children on an outing to the Museum of Science and Technology (so much more fun than it may sound), the Government Aquarium, a park, and on Sunday we all attended church. Spending time with the children outside the home really allowed us to get to know them and see a bit of their personalities come springing forth.

Through the week, I couldn’t help but think about how each moment with these children was truly special. For me, whenever I am in India, I feel as though I am doing exactly what I was made to do. It’s in these moments I am reminded that what we do with our time is important. The more aware we are that time is fleeting allows us to put what is truly important into perspective.

Visiting orphans is something that is truly important and that we shouldn’t let get lost in the busyness of life. For it’s in the moments with these children that we are able to see God in magnificent ways.

This is a very exciting trip I’d like to do in the future. I feel this is an on hands gift from God. It’s the small changes that make a difference and as a child what great memories they will cherish in their hearts forever.
